The initial agreement of the forestry right was contracted to Carter Holt Harvey in 1993 for a term of 35 years or a single rotation whichever is shorter.

A change in ownership of the forestry right occurred in 2006 to Taumata Plantations and is managed by Hancock Forest Management Ltd.
